From WQOW:
It's been 56 days since Sacred Heart Hospital closed in Eau Claire, and if you've been to an emergency room, you've felt the change. Now, the future of millions of dollars to support local clinics is at a standstill in the State Capitol.
The $15 million is from money that was earmarked for Sacred Heart Hospital back in 2021 in the state budget, but HSHS never took the money.
When Sacred Heart announced they were closing, lawmakers quickly decided to take that $15 million and give it to the clinics still open who were about to see an influx of patients.
