From WHO:

UnityPoint Health – Des Moines is training its first class of emergency medicine residents this year. As a part of their training, emergency medicine residents attended a “Doc Ops Training” where the residents were trained on skills that first responders need.

Dustyn Dickhaut, the Associate Dean of Health Sciences at DMACC, said that learning more about how first responders work will help future ER doctors care for their patients.

“We all work for the same end goal, taking care of Iowans at a time of need. And this kind of helps close that gap. When we show up to a hospital and hand off care to one of their physicians, they’ll understand exactly what it took for us to get the patient from their emergency into there,” Dickhaut said.
